Bonnaroo 2015 Lineup | Plant, Joel, MMJ, Mumfords & More

One of the nations biggest and most prestigious music festivals, Bonnaroo, returns to The Farm in Manchester, Tennessee from June 11 - 14. This evening, Bonnaroo organizers have announced the initial lineup for this years festival, which will be headlined by Billy Joel, Mumford & Sons, Deadmau5 and My Morning Jacket.

Kendrick Lamar, Florence and The Machine, Robert Plant and The Sensational Space Shifters, Bassnectar, Alabama Shakes, Hozier and Slayer are also among the dozens of Bonnaroo '15 acts announced today. Closer to home, jam-leaning acts STS9, Medeski Scofield Martin & Wood, Moon Taxi, SOJA, Woods and Dopapod made the cut. It appears Bonnaroo will host two SuperJams this June with Ed Helms tapped to host the bluegrass edition. No word yet on the performers and format of the other SuperJam.

Mumford & Sons, who have been on hiatus since 2013, were supposed to headline Bonnaroo that summer, but had to pull out due to medical issues faced by bassist Ted Dwane. Jack Johnson was the last-minute replacement for the U.K. act at Bonnaroo 2013. Billy Joel continues a long tradition of classic rockers performing at the fest that included Neil Young & Crazy Horse in 2003 and more recently has seen Paul McCartney, Elton John and The Beach Boys play Bonnaroo. My Morning Jacket has grown alongside Bonnaroo, having made their debut at the festival in 2003. This year will mark MMJ's seventh appearance on The Farm and first since 2011.

Bonnaroo is America's largest camping event and only festival that operates 24 hours a day with no curfew. The festival's footprint spans over 375 football fields. While in its early years, 'Roo organizers focused on jam acts, they've long had bigger aspirations and this year's lineup is the most diverse yet, with perhaps the fewest jam acts set to play The Farm in 2015 as any other year. Additional acts, including the lineup for this year's SuperJam, will be announced in the coming months.

Tickets for Bonnaroo 2015 go on sale this Saturday, January 17, at Noon ET via the festival's website.
