Voodoo Dead | Kreutzmann To Lead Jazz Fest One-Off

As if there wasn't enough exciting news from the Grateful Dead world today, here's another juicy announcement - drummer Bill Kreutzmann will take part in a concert held in New Orleans during Jazz Fest dubbed "Voodoo Dead." Billy will be joined by the impressive lineup of Steve Kimock, Dave Schools, Keller Williams and Jeff Chimenti at Republic on May 2 and 3.

The concert is part of a celebration of 50 years of the Grateful Dead and will take place during the actual anniversary week. Look for a nod to the band's strong New Orleans influences, such as The Meters. In fact George Porter Jr. is aboard as a special guest for both shows, while Papa Mali will play as part of the show on the 2nd. More guests will be announced soon.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, January 23 at 11 a.m. CST / 12 p.m. EST via Ticketweb.
