As we reported, the biggest box set in Grateful Dead history is coming on September 18, when Rhino Records will issue the 80-disc 30 Trips Around The Sun. Today we have another taste of the new box set as Entertainment Weekly has premiered audio of a 30 Trips Around The Sun "Shakedown Street" from May 16, 1981.

The Dead's May 16, 1981 show took place at Barton Hall on the campus of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. May 16, 1981 is one of 30 complete shows - one from each year of the group's 30-year touring career - that make up 30 Trips Around The Sun. Both guitarist Jerry Garcia and keyboardist Brent Mydland are on fire during the 16+ minute "Shakedown" EW premiered today. Take a listen:
