Jimmy Page Ready To Get Back To Guitar

Jimmy Page has spent the last few years working on a series of Led Zeppelin deluxe reissues, but now that the final reissues are about to be released Jimmy is ready to get back to his instrument.

Page spoke with Rolling Stone about the final Led Zeppelin reissues and what lies ahead for him. The last three reissues come out on July 31 and he'll take a day off on August 1. Then on August 2 he'll "pick up the guitar, and I won't stop from that point on."

Jimmy had previously told NME, "I think it's safe to assume that (there) will be a new project. I don't know who with yet because I haven't had a chance to work on it, but I've got material that's written I want to revisit and well, it's an exciting time." The guitarist confirmed he's "got new material" to Rolling Stone. Page warns fans not to expect his new material to sound like Led Zeppelin. "Because somebody plays guitar, why does it mean they need a singer?" Jimmy Page heatedly told Rolling Stone. "Because people already have this image of things? No, I'll put my music together, then think about whether I need to embellish it with a singer."

Last year the guitarist discussed a potential solo tour with Rolling Stone. "If I was to play again it would be with musicians that would be… some of the names might be new to you. I haven't put them together yet but I'm going to do that next year. If I went out to play, I would play material that spanned everything from my recording career right back to my very, very early days with The Yardbirds. There would certainly be some new material in there as well…" Page added, "I love playing live, I really do. Live concerts are always an interesting challenge because it means you can always change things as you're playing every night. You can make it even more of an adventure. I would play all of the things I'm known to play — instrumental versions of 'Dazed And Confused' etcetera, etcetera…"

We look forward to see what the next chapter will bring for Jimmy Page.
