Cover Alert | Florence & The Machine Cover Foo Fighters

Florence + The Machine were tapped to replace the Foo Fighters’ slot at this year’s Glastonbury Festival in the wake of Dave Grohl’s broken leg suffered after falling on stage in Sweden. Lead by Florence Welch, the substitute headliners paid tribute to their on-the-mend contemporaries by playing a Foo Fighters song during their set.
 



Mid-set Welch came to the microphone to address the massive audience, telling them, “We would like to dedicate this song to the legend and all-around incredible human being, Dave Grohl. He was so incredibly kind and supportive to us when we were first starting out and we were so sad to hear that he broke his leg because we love him so much.” Adding, “We’re sending you so much love, this one’s for you Dave.”

The band then launched into a moving cover of Foo Fighters hit “Times Like These” which you can watch below:
